Calling All Culture Vultures
While I’m not the type of girl who spends my days looking at fashion magazines, I do love art and all things artsy. I spent a great deal of my young adult life as a photographer and I consider myself to be an artist of sorts.
The hardest part was getting the attention that is needed for a young artist or writer. Getting published that first time is just impossible, especially if you’re young, or haven’t studied or have no contacts in the industry. Getting a professional portfolio together can be really tough.
I used to spend hours calling after articles and photographs that I had sent just to hear a ‘no’ or ‘you’re too young’ response.
That’s why the opportunity that culturemag is offering to young fashionista types is just too good to ignore.
They are looking for hairdressers, makeup artists, stylists a and photographers, If this is your area of expertise you might want to consider contributing to the culturemag. It’s a great way to get published, and they are accepting contributions.
If you’re the type of girl (or guy) who loves their fashion and clothes horse culture, then culturemag will be right up your alley. If you’re more like me an need some help in the fashion department then you can Join the Culture newsletter.
The thing I like most about culturemag is the online contributions. There is one particularly interesting article about the perceptions of beauty and body size. And its not just about the fashion that you see in cosmo, culturemag showcases everything from dreadlocks to designer wares. Well worth checking out.
